On natural black or dark brown hair
8MQ is 5 levels lighter than natural black or dark brown hair, more than permanent colour can lift on its own. Lighten with bleach to about this level first, then apply 8MQ with a 6% (20 vol) developer to tone. On coloured hair, colour does not lift colour.
Tone
A matte, green-based tone: it neutralises red and orange warmth for a cool, natural finish.
Grey coverage
Fashion tones cover grey less fully on their own. For more than about a third grey, mix 8MQ 1:1 with the natural shade of the same depth, then add developer.
How to apply
